As part of its mandate to support the Canadian judiciary, the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs provides support services to the Office of the Canadian Judicial Council. The Council is composed of the 39 Chief Justices and Associate Chief Justices of Canada's superior Courts. Its mandate is to promote efficiency and uniformity, and to improve the quality of judicial service in Canada. The Council is also responsible for reviewing complaints against federally appointed judges.
