Contamination Estimate
The following contaminated media was identified on the site:
Contaminant Type | Medium Type |
---|---|

Action Plan
Three areas of soil contamination were identified in 2005: 1) in the vicinity of the hospital loading ramp (benzene, toluene and vlatile petroleum hydrocarbons), 2) the former fuel tank farm (semi-volatile hydrocarbons), and 3) to the west of the water treatment plant (chromium, copper, molybdenum, nickel). Remediation of an estimated 100 cubic metres of contaminated soil was identified as being required. In 2007/08, the site was remediated. A total of 94 cubic metres of impacted soil was removed and was taken to a soil treatment facility in Norway House for treatment. Site remediated.
