I. ApproachIn keeping with the nature and scope of its procurement activities, SSHRC is continuing its ongoing investigation and incorporation of green procurement opportunities as part of its business practices. The vice-president, Common Administrative Services Directorate, is responsible for SSHRC’s application of the Policy on Green Procurement. In 2012-13, as part of its organizational business transformation initiatives, SSHRC will explore new green solution opportunities, and will build on its existing good green practices.
II. Management processes and controlsSSHRC has set the following targets for 2012-13:
Performance evaluation
The performance management agreement of the manager, Procurement, Contracts and Materiel Management, includes the objective of ensuring that environmental considerations are taken into account in all procurement activities.
Meeting targets
SSHRC will review its green procurement strategies at mid-year to ensure they are on track to be achieved by the end of the fiscal year.
